Walter Everett is a recruitment agency and we are currently helping our client to hire a number of Hardware Engineers.
You will be helping to design state of the art smart home and consumer electronic equipment
You will work with multiple stakeholders and enjoy an exciting working environment where personal development is a key value of the team.
What you'll do:
Review and build test plans to support the approval of changes to designs
Identify alternative components and create validation plans to mitigate risk of obsolescence for current products.
Manage the eBOM and understand the product cost makeup.
Responsible for hardware test and qualification
Perform schematic design and work with the CAD team on PCB layout.
Work with Software teams on device bring-up and development.
Work with the operations team on manufacturing test development
Work with the Product Design team on mechanical integration.
Support the Hardware Leads on all design aspects and issues.
Investigate product failures to understand cause and identify any necessary actions
What you'll bring:
Hardware design experience as Electrical Engineer on consumer electronic devices
Knowledge of schematic design and CAD PCB layout.
Knowledge of EMC and RF testing
Experience at bring-up, debug, validation and optimisation of systems.
Design for Cost and Design for Manufacture experience
Problem solving expertise
Proficient user of modern design tools and systems; including design simulation.
Clear communicator able of exchanging ideas or summarising technical information with an appropriate level of detail, depending on audience.
